My Exit From The SDA Church Gave Me Breakthrough - Actor Kwaku Manu

Kumawood Actor Kwaku Manu

Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu has attributed his career breakthrough to leaving the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. In an interview with Nana Romeo on Ayekoo Ayekoo on Accra 100.5 FM, Manu explained that he felt the church was not supportive of his profession as an actor and did not provide the spiritual guidance he needed. He emphasized the importance of being in a place that aligns with one's vision and mission in life.

Manu also referred to occasions in the Bible where people were told to leave their current place in order to flourish. He credited Mama Vida's church for helping him realize his potential and land a role in a movie that catapulted him to fame. While acknowledging the positive aspects of his SDA upbringing, Manu criticized the church for suppressing gifts and not believing in certain spiritual experiences. He stressed the need for a prophet who could intercede and provide guidance in his career.
