Sam Toys, the organizer for the NPP in Agona West, has been accused of inflicting cutlass wounds on a member of the NDC communication team. The victim, now in critical condition, reportedly suffered these injuries amid the chaos that unfolded at the Agona West office of the Electoral Commission in the Central Region.
Samuel Ametepey, the NDC's Deputy Organizer in the constituency, who claimed to have witnessed the incident, expressed his disappointment. He placed blame on the Electoral Commission for the disorder and asserted that his party would not withdraw from the registration process until it concludes.
On the other hand, Isaac Somuah, the Agona West NPP Communication Director, denied the allegations against Sam Toys. According to him, the victim's injuries did not result from a direct blow with a weapon but rather from a clash between two individuals that led to them colliding with a car's bonnet. He stated, "Toys did not hit the victim's head with a cutlass. Zion's account is false; he was not present. It was a fight between the two people, and they both crashed into a car's bonnet, causing the injury. Toys also fell from the car onto the floor, and they were separated."

Moreover, Isaac Somuah dismissed claims that the NPP had police backing to interfere with the registration process.
In response, Wahab Mukaila, the constituency's NDC communication officer, asserted that his party was prepared to defend itself if the police failed to provide protection.
This incident highlights the importance of maintaining a peaceful and orderly environment during crucial events like voter registration. It also emphasizes the need for thorough investigations to determine the facts and hold individuals accountable for any wrongdoing.
