The rainfall, which began between 14:00 and 15:00 hours on Friday, September 22, has resulted in significant flooding in various parts of the capital. According to reports, the downpour has caused flooding on the Accra-Tema Motorway road, particularly near TT Brothers. Videos circulating on social media, like X (formerly Twitter), have also shown flooding in areas such as Adenta SDA.
The downpour was accompanied by intense thunderclaps. As the rain continued, some motorists took to social media to share the extent of the flooding caused by the downpour. Their aim was to warn and inform other drivers and pedestrians who may be planning to venture out.
Spintex Road has been identified as another area experiencing significant flooding due to the heavy rain.
Residents and commuters within the affected areas are therefore advised to exercise caution and avoid areas prone to flooding during this period. Additionally, closely monitoring official announcements and updates from local authorities can provide valuable information and guidance.
