The police have requested a court order to prevent a group called Democracy Hub from holding a three-day protest near the government headquarters.
The group had announced their intention to begin the demonstration at the Jubilee House on Thursday, September 21, and end on Saturday, September 23. However, the police claim that they have successfully delivered a copy of the application to the organizers.
Superintendent Julian Obeng, the Head of Public Affairs at the Accra Regional Command, issued a press release advising the public to disregard any calls for a demonstration at the Jubilee House and urging the organizers to respect the legal process for the sake of public order and safety.
