The collapse of the Doli bridge on the Bole to Wa road in northern Ghana has resulted in the cessation of road transport along that route. This unfortunate incident occurred in the afternoon of 17th September 2023 when a dam breached its banks, causing the bridge to be washed away.

As a result, the road from Bole in the Savannah Region to Wa in the Upper West Region has become impassable, leaving commuters stranded. In response to the situation, officials have provided alternative routes for motorists.

According to a statement, motorists traveling from the south to Wa are advised to utilize the Techiman-Kintampo Road, then turn off at Fufulso Junction and proceed via the Fufulso-Sawla Road to Sawla and onward to Wa.

For motorists coming from Wenchi and heading to Wa, the recommended route is to use the New Longoro to Kintampo Road on the N10.

The statement reassures the public that engineers and technical staff are diligently working to address the situation as quickly as possible. Their efforts are focused on restoring the bridge and facilitating the resumption of safe and efficient road transport along the Bole to Wa route.

During this time, it is important for travelers in the affected area to follow the instructions provided by authorities and to exercise patience as the necessary repairs and arrangements are made.
