The Ghana Police Service has reportedly arrested two young men identified as Adams Kwame and Abubakari Sharif, both 25 years of age, on account of preparation to commit robbery. The suspects, according to the police, were arrested on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Tweapease police checkpoint during their usual stop-and-search operation.
In the statement released by the police, the suspects were four in number when they tried to escape from the routine check. However, two of them were able to flee and are currently on the run. On the two who were arrested, a number of items were found that were intended to be used in the robbery. These included a pump-action gun, two machetes, two BB live cartridges, and a catapult.

Adams Kwame and Abubakari Sharif are currently in police custody as further legal proceedings are underway. At the same time, the police are on a vigorous manhunt for the remaining two.
