"I Am Ready To Pay Delegates for NPP Parliamentary Ticket" - Alfred Obeng-Boateng Expresses

Honorable Alfred Obeng-Boateng, the MP for Bibiani Anhwiaso Constituency, has stated his willingness to pay NPP delegates in order to clinch the party's parliamentary ticket for the upcoming general election in 2024. This declaration was made in a popular audio clip that Sompa FM disseminated.

Obeng-Boateng disclosed that during the prior primaries, he bribed delegates as much as GHC3,000 for each individual. He is currently the Vice Chairperson of the Government Assurance Committee of Parliament. He further stressed his willingness to outperform any financial challenge faced by his rivals in terms of delegate payments. He appears to be cognizant of the opposition he would encounter during the primaries and resolves to defeat it by deploying his financial resources.

In the audio clip, he explained, "I knew from day one that upon all the resistance I faced during my coming (into office), this time people will regroup more forces, pull their resources together and fight one person. So knowing all this, I know everyone’s financial strength; I know everyone’s financial limit here."

Obeng-Boateng stressed that he has specifically saved money in dollars to safeguard against the impact of inflation and to ensure that the value of the funds remains intact. He plans to allocate as much as GHC20,000 to each of the 2,200 delegates in the constituency to secure the NPP's parliamentary ticket for the 2024 general elections.

He confidently stated, "I am telling you that the money I will use for the primaries is in dollars and that money has been secured long ago, I must be frank with you. That is money I am not touching under any circumstance."

Obeng-Boateng's commitment to providing financial support to delegates is evident as he expressed his willingness to pay more than double the amount offered by his competitors. He aims to ensure that his delegates are incentivized to support his bid for the party's parliamentary ticket.
