In a tragic incident on Tuesday afternoon, a Kia Daewood truck crashed into the New Patriotic Party (NPP) office in Oko Dan, located within the Adentan Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. Regrettably, one person has been reported dead as a result of the accident, while another individual has sustained injuries. The victims, both food vendors who sell along the road, have been identified.
The truck, bearing the registration number GE 4831-22, was transporting crates of beer when the unfortunate incident occurred. According to reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to brake pad malfunction, leading to the collision.
In response to the accident, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) was compelled to cut power supply to the affected area. This information was conveyed by ADO1 Alex King Nartey, a member of the Public Relations Officer (PRO) department of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). A video shared on the GNFS's Facebook page featured Nartey narrating the incident and providing an update on the situation.
He stated, "One of the victims, who is a waakye seller, is in critical condition and has been rushed to the hospital. The other person, unfortunately, was a Kenkey seller who was run over by the truck and is feared dead.

It is truly disheartening when such accidents occur, causing harm and even loss of life. It serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for continuous efforts to prevent such incidents. Authorities, along with various organizations, work together to raise awareness, enforce regulations, and improve infrastructure to enhance road safety across Ghana.
