I'm Not Campaigning For The Running Mate Position - Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu

(Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu)

The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has fervently denied allegations of actively seeking to become the running mate for Dr. Mahammudu Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 general elections. This comes in the wake of an admonition from former Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, who encouraged Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu to prioritize his critical oversight responsibilities as the leader of government business in parliament, rather than vie for the position of running mate to the NPP flagbearer.

In response to a similar remark from the Minority Chief Whip, Governs Kwame Agbodza, the Suame MP outrightly rejected any such suggestions, underscoring that he is not actively engaged in a campaign to secure the position of Dr. Bawumia’s running mate. According to citinewsroom.com, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu emphasized this on the floor of parliament on Thursday, November 23, stating, “Mr Speaker, let me state that there is no contest for running mate, and I’m not involved in campaigning for the running mate position, it should be loud and clear.”
