Rosalynn Carter, the former First Lady and advocate for mental health, caregiving, and women's rights, passed away on Sunday, November 19 at 2:10 p.m. at her home in Plains, Georgia. She was 96 years old.

Mrs. Carter died peacefully with her family by her side. She was married to Jimmy Carter, the 39th president of the United States and the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, for 77 years. President Carter expressed his deep admiration for his wife, stating that she was his equal partner in all his accomplishments and provided him with wise guidance and support.

Rosalynn Carter is survived by her children - Jack, Chip, Jeff, and Amy - as well as 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A grandson passed away in 2015. Her son Chip Carter described her as a loving mother and an exceptional First Lady, highlighting her impact as a humanitarian and her contribution to improving mental health care and caregiving resources.
