Updates On Cecilia Dapaah's Theft Case: AG Presses Fresh Charges Against Accused Persons

State prosecutors have made a decision to withdraw the charges leveled against seven accused individuals in a high-profile case involving the alleged theft of substantial sums and items from the residence of former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, and her spouse, Daniel Osei Kuffour. 

The accused parties - Patience Botwe, Sarah Agyei, Benjamin Sowah, Malik Dauda, Christiana Achab, Job Pomary, and Yahaya Sumaila - were discharged at the Circuit Court following the withdrawal of charges encompassing conspiracy, stealing, dishonestly receiving, and money laundering by Assistant State Attorney Akosua Agyapomaa Agyemang, in accordance with section 59 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1960 (Act 30).

Subsequent to their release at the Circuit Court presided over by Afia Owusuaa Appiah, the accused individuals were promptly re-apprehended by law enforcement officers. Additionally, they now face the re-imposition of identical charges at the High Court in Accra, marking a significant turn of events in this legal saga.
