"They planned on sacking Chris Hughton after the two matches, but they have decided to do it now after he sent the squad to them. The squad has a lot of changes and some players of FA officials have been omitted from the list," Kankam Boadu stated.
Moreover, Kankam Boadu expressed his disapproval of the potential interim appointment of George Boateng as head coach of the Black Stars. He denounced the idea, emphasizing his belief that interim options such as Boateng, Didi, and Olele would be less suitable replacements than Hughton.
Recent reports from Asaase Radio indicate that the leadership of the GFA has signaled their intentions to dismiss Chris Hughton to select Executive Council members. However, the government's authorization is being awaited as they are responsible for the compensation of the technical team. The government’s decision on the dismissal of the coach is expected to be communicated on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
It is also reported that some Executive Council members have opposed the move to terminate Hughton's contract, expressing their disagreement with the belief that he may be unable to secure victories in Ghana’s 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros.
