The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared that it is prepared for the district-level elections that are set to take place on Tuesday, December 19. The number of applicants vying for assembly and unit committee positions is above 66,000, with 18,755 seeking assembly membership and 47,502 seeking unit committee membership, for a total of 66,257 candidates.

In 216 metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies, these candidates will face off in 6,215 electoral zones.

The EC's Director of Electoral Services, Dr. Sereboe Quarcoo, has guaranteed that extensive arrangements have been taken to guarantee a seamless and orderly election procedure on Tuesday, December 19.
