World Heart Day is observed annually on September 29 to spread awareness about heart disease and emphasize preventive measures that can reduce the risk of cardiovascular illnesses. This global initiative serves as a reminder for individuals to prioritize heart health, considering that cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide.

According to the World Heart Federation, more than 20.5 million lives are claimed each year due to conditions that impact the heart and blood vessels, including heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure. These staggering numbers highlight the urgent need to educate people about the significance of maintaining a healthy heart.

The theme for World Heart Day 2023 is "Use Heart, Know Heart".

The World Heart Federation explains that "Use Heart" signifies the use of the heart emoji to promote the theme and significance of World Heart Day in our communication. The "Know Heart" phrase is to empower individuals to take control of their well-being.

Remember, a healthy heart leads to a healthier life. So, let's embrace World Heart Day as a call to action and commit to making heart-healthy choices that can positively impact our overall well-being.
