Andrew Clocanas, the contractor involved in the controversial Saglemi Affordable Housing Project, has reportedly passed away at his Airport Residential Apartment. His body was discovered in the washroom beneath a shower on Saturday, October 21.
The body has been transported to the Lashibi Funeral Home. The Ghana Police Service has initiated an investigation into his death and has visited his apartment to question the individuals involved.

Mr. Clocanas had been facing trial, along with others, for alleged financial loss to the state in relation to the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project. The additional accused individuals include Dr. Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah, a former Minister of Water Resources, Works, and Housing, Alhaji Ziblim Yakubu, Executive Chairman of Construtora OAS Ghana Limited, and Nouvi Tetteh Angelo, CEO and owner of Ridge Management Solutions Ghana Limited.
These individuals are currently standing trial on 70 charges, accused of willfully causing financial loss to the state in relation to the approved $200 million budget for the project. All defendants have pleaded not guilty and have been granted bail.
Prosecutors have indicated that they will present five witnesses to testify in the case, with an estimated combined time of 1,952 hours for the witnesses' evidence-in-chief and cross-examination from the defense.
