Tragically, the ongoing conflict in Nkwanta South within the Oti region has seen the loss of two additional lives, further exacerbating the already dire situation. One of the victims has been identified as 65-year-old Kwabena Danso, who, along with another individual, fell victim to unknown assailants in the suburban areas of Adom Challa and Tuobodom.

Mr. Danso's untimely demise occurred while he was attending to a basic human need, further underscoring the senselessness and indiscriminate nature of the violence that has gripped the region. This latest episode of violence adds to the grim toll of about 10 lives lost in Nkwanta South over the past week due to renewed clashes among the Adele, Challa, and Akyode ethnic groups.
Additionally, amidst this tragic loss of life, numerous households and properties have also suffered destruction, painting a distressing picture of the devastating impact of this conflict on the community.
In response to these grave developments, both the police and the military have been mobilized to restore and maintain peace in the region. Notably, a curfew has been imposed, restricting movement in the area from 5:00 pm to 6:00 am, highlighting the severity of the security situation and the urgent need for intervention to quell the violence and safeguard the lives of the residents.
