In a communiqué addressed to all airlines, the Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, communicated that the initiative will be effective from Friday, December 1 to Sunday, January 14. The letter emphasized the need for airlines to update their systems to accommodate this new arrangement and advised personnel responsible for passenger check-in to refrain from insisting on entry visas prior to boarding.

The Minister further expounded that this initiative is aligned with the government’s visionary 10-year project "Beyond The Return," which seeks to provide Africans in the diaspora with an avenue to reconnect with their heritage.

It's worth noting that this reintroduction is not a new endeavor for Ghana. The visa-on-arrival policy was initially launched last year during the festive season, resulting in a substantial influx of tourists from various corners of the globe.

The decision to reinstate the visa-on-arrival option reflects the government's proactive approach to fostering tourism, cultural exchange, and strengthening ties with the diaspora. By offering a streamlined entry process, Ghana aims to enhance its appeal as a destination for travel, business, and reconnecting with cultural roots, particularly during this festive period.

This move not only serves as a practical step to facilitate travel but also resonates with the broader message of inclusivity, cultural exchange, and the celebration of heritage. As the reinstatement of this policy gears up, it sets the stage for an exciting and vibrant festive season, underpinned by the spirit of togetherness and exploration.
