Three people were detained by the Ashanti Regional Police Command on Tuesday for impersonating police personnel during the district assembly and unit committee elections in Asawase. The suspects, identified as 26-year-old Ibrahim Zack, 24-year-old Godsway Fiakodzo, and 37-year-old Zakari Yakubu, were placed under arrest by the police pending additional inquiries.
The three individuals—clad in black, armed with pepper spray, jack knives, body jackets, and five sets of handcuffs—were detained at Sawaba New Site voting stations A and B after raising concerns about possible impersonation. The police apprehended them without delay.
Two of the accused's motorcycles were also seized as part of the continuing investigation.READ ALSO: Neglect For Local-level Elections Will Make Our National Development Suffer - Dr Oduro Osae
