The arrest, according to Kwadwo Daase, the Public Relations Officer for GWCL in the Eastern Region, throws light on the company's larger problems, such as instances of meter theft, the removal of steel covers from its chambers, and the theft of electric cables from its plants. The GWCL is still struggling to protect its infrastructure from these kinds of illegal activity.
