The Forestry Commission has made significant headway in its crackdown on illegal mining activities within forest reserves nationwide, with a total of 218 individuals arrested for these infractions. Out of this number, 24 have already faced prosecution and subsequent imprisonment, while the remaining offenders await trial across various courts in the country. This update was communicated by the head of Corporate Affairs and Media Relations, Joyce Ofori Kwafo, during an interview on JoyFM’s Midday News on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.
