The unexpected change of camping base from South Africa to their homeland has proven to be a source of contention, with the decision beginning to have adverse repercussions. The Black Stars initially initiated their nine-day camp at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Kumasi, veering away from their intended training location at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Unfortunately, a last-minute inspection of the pitch at the Baba Yara Stadium, crucial for the team's first training session, revealed that it was unsuitable and deemed unplayable—a surprising setback that prompted logistical adjustments to their training arrangements.
