Professor Godfred Alufar Bokpin has stated that the nation has yet to overcome its economic challenges, emphasizing the need for further concerted efforts to address the ongoing crisis. While acknowledging some limited progress in specific sectors of the economy, Prof. Bokpin cautioned Ghanaians to prepare for demanding economic times.

During an interview on Joy FM's Super Morning Show on Tuesday, January 2, he stressed the importance of citizens being economically prepared for the year 2024. Addressing the nation, he emphasized the need for moderated expectations regarding the trajectory of economic growth and its direct impact on individuals.

"We are not out of it (economic crisis) yet," he warned, urging Ghanaians to temper their expectations about the pace of economic recovery and its implications for their welfare. He emphasized the crucial role of maintaining macroeconomic stability for an extended period—specifically not less than 15 years—prior to the widespread realization of economic benefits for ordinary citizens.
