The Electricity Company of Ghana plans to launch a four-week campaign to resolve all issues related to post-paid meter billing throughout the nation.
Operation 'fix the bill, pay the bill' is an attempt to address the numerous complaints customers have voiced in the last few months regarding incorrect billing.
The goal of the exercise, according to Laila Abubakari, External Communications Manager of ECG, is "providing better services to our customers, for them not to steal power from us and to be happy enough to pay us what they owe us, especially for our postpaid customers who are holding on to a lot of our monies." Abubakari made this statement to JoyNews.
Many customers have complained about receiving bills that do not accurately reflect As part of the campaign, ECG staff will be transformed into meter readers who will visit customers' premises to capture accurate meter readings. By doing so, ECG hopes to address the issue of incorrect billing and ensure that customers are billed accurately for their electricity consumption.
