According to the Minister, the World Bank's $40 million initiative will provide much-needed support to farmers in Ghana whose livelihoods have been impacted by the flooding. The funding will be used to provide technical and financial assistance to farmers, helping them to rebuild their farms and improve their resilience to future disasters.

He stated the significance of the support acknowledging the fact that it recognizes the importance of agriculture in Ghana's economy and the impact that natural disasters can have on farmers. Agriculture is the backbone of the Ghanaian economy, employing over 50% of the population and accounting for approximately 20% of the country's GDP. The flooding caused by the Akosombo and Kpong dams has dealt a significant blow to farmers in the affected areas, with many losing their crops and their means of livelihood.

Finally, the President stated that MoFA was working on a long-term solution for farmers because he was aware that many farms along the Volta River had been devastated by the floods. But in the meanwhile, he claimed, the Volta River, the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), and the inter-ministerial committee established to examine the flood situation were providing relief items as a short-term relief for the flood victims.
