John Dramani Mahama Enstooled as 'Development Chief' of Penyi Traditional Area

Former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, received a significant honor last Friday as he was enstooled as the 'Development Chief' of the Penyi Traditional Area in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region.

In a vibrant durbar attended by chiefs and the community of Penyi, Mr. Mahama was rightfully enstooled and presented with the prestigious title of Togbi Dunenyo I, the Nugoryifia of the Penyi Traditional Area.

The event was marked by a jubilant atmosphere, with lively drumming and dancing, as the community welcomed Mr. Mahama, who also served as the special guest of honor at the Penyi Nugoryiza festival.

Togbiga Dadzi V, the Paramount Chief of Penyi, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Mahama for accepting their invitation and participating in their annual festival. The Chief applauded the NDC for their contributions to various development projects in the area and expressed hope for more progress when the NDC returns to power.

Penyi Nugoryiza is an annual festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of Penyi, one of the four traditional areas in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region. This festival serves as a platform for cultural celebration, unity, and reflection on the community's progress.
