The flooding resulting from the spillage of the Akosombo Dam has compelled numerous communities in the north, south, and Central Tongu districts of the Volta Region to evacuate. These residents are left with no choice but to salvage what remains of their belongings. The situation is dire, as evidenced by the evacuation of staff quarters at Comboni Hospital, with the staff seeking shelter under a pavilion. In response, patients have been discharged, with only ten individuals in critical condition remaining. However, if the water levels fail to recede soon, even those patients may need to be discharged to ensure their safety.
