Albert Kan-Dapaah who was one of the key speakers at the event emphasized the security threat posed by misinformation, particularly in Ghana. He highlighted a concerning trend where certain individuals in academia, civil society, and the media have been spreading false narratives in support of a coup or military rule, particularly following the coup in Niger.

These actors, as observed by the Minister, have garnered significant followings on social media platforms, using their influence to propagate misinformation that undermines national peace and stability. This becomes even more critical as Ghana approaches the crucial December 2024 general election.
