It seems like the once delightful camaraderie shared between Kuami Eugene and his house help, Mary, has taken a sharp downturn, leading to their reported parting of ways.
In a recent interview with Der Madking TV, Mary shared the narrative of her departure from the Highlife singer's employ, citing a discord that transpired between them. According to Mary, she no longer serves the artist due to a misunderstanding that ensued.
Recounting the events, Mary took responsibility for causing the rift by narrating an incident where she was entrusted with an errand but ended up getting sidetracked. She mentioned that she was tasked with delivering a package from Eugene's residence in Pokuase to someone in Cantonments. However, she admitted that due to feeling unwell and enduring mental disorientation, she mistakenly diverted her journey, leading her to Madina and then Nkrumah Circle, instead of her intended destination.
Upon her return, Kuami Eugene, understandably upset about the situation, presented her with two choices: either a reduction in her monthly salary from GH₵600 to GH₵400, or vacating the premises. Mary initially opted to accept the reduced salary, considering her role as the primary provider for her family, yet eventually, she decided to leave the house.
She confessed, "When I got back, he got really furious... He said either I pack my things and leave the house or he’ll reduce my salary to 400 cedis. I chose to stay and took the 400 cedis because I am the breadwinner of my family. But later, I left."
